So I’ve been kind of into dark academia for quite a while. And my love for this aesthetic grows especially strong in the colder months.
Dark academia is an aesthetic, a mood and a lifestyle. It’s a certain genre that you can’t easily narrow down to a few key words. In that way, it’s exactly like the meaning of each of the signs of the zodiac.
So I wanted to do a little mesh up of the signs as dark academia. Here it goes.
Aries: too strong coffee in the morning, waking up late, having to run to class. Hair always messy, necktie crooked and shoe laces coming undone. Always loud, full of friends and too quick to get into a fight.
Taurus: wears the most comfy, warm and elegant tweed jacket. Walks behind everyone else, at their own pace and takes in everything. Knows to differentiate all the different songs of the birds. Serious student but always sits near the window, secretly longing of taking a nap in the park.
Gemini: constantly fidgeting and rubbing their hands together. Can’t help speaking during class, loves to make everyone laugh. Finishes their assignment in the wee hours of the morning, hand them with ink and coffee stains and a crooked smile.
Cancer: still has their favorite childhood fairy-tale as their night stand book and reads it whenever they feel stressed out or bored. Likes to play with their hair. Wears a lot of romantic tops or jewelry. Is very sweet with everyone but sometimes has mood swings and becomes super cranky.
Leo: bright loud laugh that makes everyone stare at them. Always speaks with a confident and soothing voice. Has read all the classics of theater and dreams of becoming a successful actor. Really kind but sometimes a bit arrogant, even though that’s simply to cover up any insecurities.
Virgo: bag filled to the brim with thick books. Always scribbling something in their notebook in an illegible hand-writing. Never forgets something they’ve read once, but often forgets to eat their meal because they’re busy working on who knows what new project in the library.
Libra: has memorized dozens of quotes from their favorite novels and authors and loves to cite them as if it’s nothing in conversations. Has the most elegant handwriting but doesn’t like how prime and proper it looks. Always rubs two drops of perfume on their wrist in the morning to feel more special.
Scorpio: likes to wear dark colors with a splash of burgundy, enjoys people watching way more than they should, are super perceptive. They’ll always sit at the same place in the library. Bites on their nails too much. Their diary is full of struck out sentences.
Sagittarius: always doodles in class, loves picking up new books in the library but often struggles to finish them, tends to be late everywhere. Almost started a fire in their room once because they have way too many candles that are always lit.
Capricorn: hates sugar or milk in their tea, keeps their hair short or tied up because feeling them on their neck and shoulders distracts them, loves waking up early and walking around campus when everyone else is asleep. Acts cold but is actually super considerate.
Aquarius: loves to get into big and complicated debates over random theories. Prefers to defend the most controversial or unusual point of view. Usually dresses all in black because it’s easier this way. Drinks their tea too dark or too run down. Sleeps a lot and yawns a lot.
Pisces: owns a dozen of unfinished notebooks, collects rare poetry books, prefers to read out loud. Their room is always messy and they regularly looses their keys or school assignments. Spaces out a lot but always knows the right thing to say to help or comfort others.
So are you know feeling in the mood to listen to some Brahms and read some romantic poetry, bwahaha? This was lovely to do and it satisfied a bit my craving for dark academia. I might do the same kind of post but with the planets : )
